I am a marketing and public relations professional with a passion for libraries. I am fortunate to work at an independent, healthy library that has 55 to 60 employees; four of which work in our marketing department. Last year we increased our market penetration of library cardholders by 2%. Do I chalk that up to luck? Absolutely not. It boils down to a combination of passionate people, a new targeted emailing campaign, great graphics, consistent branding, and of course, a solid marketing and social media plan.
